Determination of ceftriaxone in blood and tissues using ion-exchange chromatography

Abstract  Fast monitoring of the cephalosporin antibiotic ceftriaxone in blood and tissue samples was performed in one step by anion-exchange HPLC. The low detection threshold (100 ng/ml in the blood and 50 ng/g in tissues) and a sufficiently high accuracy (4.0–8.0% RSD at a 96–104% recovery) acceptable for usual pharmacokinetic studies were achieved without additional solid-phase extraction steps and ion-pair reagent addition.
